My screen name means a lot to me and comes from a book called "The Small Woman" by Alan Burgess. The other one is called "the Little Woman" by Gladys Aylward herself. That one made me gasp out loud while reading it on the plane. I have never done that while reading, not even in private! It is my favorite book! It has opened my heart to China as a place I would love to go to and possibly do missions there. But definately to visit! Perhaps even to adopt one day. The book is about Gladys Aylward. Her story is incredible! I recomend it highly! I am also only 4'11". So the name seemed to fit. And I love telling the story behind it. Gladys Aylward walked 100 children from ages 2-16 through the mountains to get to safety during the attack on China by Japan. I am bad at history, so I don't know what war that was. I hope I don't offend anyone by that. It took them a month to make it through the mountains. Did she make it with all the kids? Did any die? Did she make it? She was the only adult. It truly is a page turner. But what makes it so amazing is it is a true story! I would love to hear from anyone who has read it, or from anyone who is intrigued now.
